Aside from the usual lectures, note-taking classes, working in a kitchen laboratory and the like, the Academy for international Culinary Arts has fused Restaurant Simulation as one of its most challenging activities or evaluation tests for its culinary students that would not just give a heap of knowledge on practical applications but an activity that enhances the students’ quick response to situations such as effective trouble shooting in the kitchen and the like.

What can you expect in a Restaurant Simulation?
“Is it something you have to be scared of? Is it a final test?”—Perhaps you may be wondering about these questions.  If you are planning to take a culinary arts course, go for a school that offers such practice.  A Restaurant Simulation may be describe as a week of meaningful learning that just puts students in a phase where they can level up their skills, learn a lot about themselves and the realize many significant learning’s that are all needed to have a successful career in the culinary industry.

A week-long hell-like activity, Restaurant Simulation is tough yet fun. REALLY exciting and REALLY worth it.  This is the week when a batch of students working together to cover everything that regard restaurant operations!  For instance, a batch of culinary students will decide on a certain theme in which they would prepare food, restaurant/ambience decorations/settings and the like according to the theme they have chosen.

These students will then act as a team and make sure that everything is organized---from conceptualization and logistics, menu planning, production lists, mise en place, actual cooking, and serving dishes to their guests!

Since it is a week-long event, students will have to offer different menus for each day.  Now that is tough right?  But it is pleasurable indeed!

So, if you are still undecided about which school to choose, I’d rather you go for the school that offers tough learning.  Tough experience makes tougher and greater professionals!
